Job description

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides high-level technical support for library computers, installs new and replacement hardware, diagnoses operational problems, repairs, and services equipment, builds data communications cables, participates in major communication and mainframe upgrades, maintains equipment inventory, and orders supplies and parts.
This position will be assigned to Information Technology department, which is located at the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library at 300 Park Avenue in Oklahoma City, OK.
This position currently requires availability to work all hours the library is open, including days, evenings, and weekends. The current need requires specific availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 pm as well as occasional weekends.*
*Hours are subject to change in accordance with the needs of the department.
This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
The hiring salary for this position is $24.77 hourly. Exact compensation negotiable based on skills and experience. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. This position is classified as non-exempt under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; and
  • Two years of experience in an IT support role; or
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Current motor vehicle insurance
  • Acceptable Driving Record as defined in the Driver Safety Procedures

HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 IT support environments involving tasks such as troubleshooting hardware, software, network issues, and providing user support.
