Summary of Position

Abalone Construction is a privately owned company with over 40 years specializing in Industrial and Commercial civil construction. We offer construction services in a variety of markets including Infrastructure, Roadbuilding, and Land Development.

Reporting to the foreman, a labourer will facilitate project tasks by supporting operators and other crew members as required


Role and Responsibilities

Perform labour intensive tasks such as digging, climbing, lifting and using power tools

Working with pre-cast and and concrete piping

Signal and spotting equipment operators

Flagging Traffic

Potentially learning how to use equipment such as packers, tampers, disc tractors and rock trucks

Supporting Gradesman as required

Follow verbal instruction from foreman and superintendents

Other duties as required


Qualifications, Training and Education

1+ year(s) experience in earthworks construction

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unaided

Must have valid CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, flagging and Ground Disturbance lvl 2

Hard working, positive attitude, willingness to learn

Desire to complete tasks in a timely manner

Personal vehicle and valid driver's license


Working Conditions

A labourer is responsible for performing physically demanding work in different positions (kneeling, standing, etc.). They are working outdoors in dusty and underground environments through all kinds of weather. They are expected to work 10+ hours a day 5 to 6 days a week, (project & weather dependent).
