Summary:
The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in managing and overseeing production floor operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to company standards. This position is responsible for leading teams, coordinating activities, and driving continuous improvement to meet production goals. This position requires a proactive leader with a commitment to operational excellence and the ability to drive production goals while ensuring quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
  • Lead and oversee all department operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to production teams to maintain high performance and adherence to established processes.
  • Assign and prioritize tasks based on production demands and operator availability.
  • Monitor production output, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency.
  • Fill in during Manager absences to ensure continuity of operations.

Production Coordination:
  • Collaborate with material handlers, set-up personnel, and management to facilitate seamless production processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of production activities, including physical and computer-entered records.
  • Conduct First Article and first-piece inspections to validate new setups and maintain quality through ongoing roving inspections.
  • Assist set-up personnel in reducing set-up times and enhancing accuracy.

Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance guidelines and company standards.
  • Implement corrective actions for quality-related issues and ensure continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance:
  • Enforce and promote a clean and safe working environment in compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of production and quality checks for record-keeping purposes.

Leadership & Team Support:
  • Supervise and motivate operators, material handlers, and set-up personnel to achieve department objectives.
  • Foster effective communication with other shift supervisors to ensure seamless transitions and workflow.
  • Resolve employee concerns and escalate issues to management as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Issue work orders for setups and changeovers.
  • Manage operator schedules to meet department needs and optimize labor resources.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure operators have the necessary materials and tools.
  • Oversee equipment and material inventory management to support production goals.
  • Maintain detailed records of assignments and job completions for tracking and verification.

Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move wheeled carts with baskets weighing up to 1,500 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and perform manual labor throughout the shift.
  • Experience working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Availability for overtime as required.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve production challenges effectively.

Shift Details:
5th shift is a Weekend Day shift: Fri, Sat, Sun, 3 X 12-hr shifts, 6:45pm - 6:45am.
* Weekend shift works 36 hours, paid for 40 hours. No overtime available.
