About the Role:

The Kitchen Steward plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment to ensure smooth and efficient food service operations. This position is responsible for cleaning dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas to uphold high standards of hygiene and safety. The Kitchen Steward supports the culinary team by managing waste disposal and assisting with basic food preparation tasks when necessary. By maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen, the steward helps prevent contamination and contributes to a safe workplace for all staff. Ultimately, this role ensures that the kitchen operates seamlessly, allowing chefs and cooks to focus on delivering quality meals to guests. Must have Food Handlers (FH) certificate upon date of hire.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to follow instructions and handle inventory.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Understanding of basic hygiene and sanitation standards in a kitchen environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or in a fast-paced food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
