Job description

Nationwide Refrigeration (NRI) is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Commercial Kitchen Equipment Installer to join our team in a full-time status.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing, assembling, and servicing commercial-grade kitchen equipment for restaurants, hotels, institutional kitchens, and food service operations. This role involves working on-site to ensure equipment is safely and correctly installed according to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and client requirements. We are looking for positive attitudes and technical know-how. You’re hungry to grow as a professional and individual. You bring a can-do attitude and focus on solutions rather than problems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and set up commercial kitchen equipment including ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, ventilation systems, fryers, mixers, and more.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, installation manuals, and schematics.
  • Ensure all installations are compliant with local plumbing, electrical, and mechanical codes.
  • Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks after installation.
  • Collaborate with electricians, plumbers, contractors, and project managers on-site.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address client questions or concerns during the installation process.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations and services performed.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting/moving equipment.
  • Follow all company and job-site safety protocols and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial kitchen equipment installation or a closely related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with gas, electrical, and plumbing systems related to kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Able to pass a drug and background check.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • EPA Refrigerant Handling Certification.
  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout Maryland, Virginia, and DC for multiple days at a time.
  • Able to work occasional weekends or evenings, to include overnight stays, as required by the project.

Job Preferences:

  • 10+ years’ experience in commercial kitchen equipment installation or a closely related field.
  • Experience with ServiceTitan or similar technology.
  • Ability to be badged at local, state, and federal government buildings.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • EPA 608 certification.
