Job description

Covenant Woods is a Continuing Care Retirement Community, located off of Mechanicsville Turnpike, is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Janitor with the ability to clean floor coverings and ensure trash is properly disposed of, and clean all areas of the physical facility to the highest standards with minimal supervision.

Working in a retirement community like Covenant Woods is unlike any job you’ll ever hold. You don’t work with regulars, you work with residents: familiar, friendly faces you will see and interact with every day. You’ll get to know inspiring people, and be surrounded by a family-like team. Our staff  enjoy coming to work and are rewarded with healthy relationships, consistent hours, and a welcoming workplace that feels like home.

  • 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Saturdays and Sundays 

Experience/Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be knowledgeable of housekeeping methods and the use and care of cleaning supplies and equipment. 
  • Knowledgeable in using floor cleaning equipment, and washing and drying machines desired. 
  • Must be able to follow instructions and set up common areas for various events. 
  • 3 years of housekeeping/janitorial experience, preferably in a Health Care setting preferred.
  • A current state of VA driving license.
  • Work requires standing and walking for most or all of the workday. 
  • Use of the hands is required. 
  • Stooping, kneeling, sitting, crouching, crawling, twisting, and reaching are frequently required. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry an average of 10 pounds up to a maximum of 20 pounds; push or pull an average of 30 pounds. 
  • Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
