Job description

Description

evo Purpose: To make life better by building community and igniting the adventurous spirit that lives within us all. evo is leading multi-channel retail brand that stands at the intersection of community, commerce, action sports and the outdoor lifestyle. This is personified by a distinctly curated product assortment and a creative approach to crafting highly differentiated customer experiences. We define success differently than most. Balancing our goals of (1) building an iconic brand and business (2) creating an extraordinary place and path for our employees and (3) leveraging our success to give back, helping to empower underprivileged children is paramount to evos success. We have a passion for community, sports and lifestyle, and a collective hunger when it comes to building a great company together.

The Job

The Inventory Lead oversees the inventory processes in the DC, ensuring accurate stock management and an organized flow of merchandise. This role is responsible for tracking, organizing, and maintaining inventory levels to support sales, uphold delivery standards, and optimize customer experience. The Inventory Lead collaborates closely with DC teams, Stores, Customer Care and management and has lead level supervisory responsibilities.

The Perks

  • 100% paid health dental and vision*
  • Paid vacation time*, sick leave, 40 hours volunteer paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for birthing & non birthing parents
  • Retail quarterly bonus program, profit share program* and long-term compensation program
  • 401k matching
  • Employee discount and access to pro deals on most the products we sell
  • NGEY (New Gear Every Year): a new ski or snowboard setup to use for the season*
  • Bike finance program and bike stipend
  • Time together outside, volunteer activities, community events, ride days and annual retreat
  • Flexible work schedules, remote work for eligible roles, and dog friendly offices
  • Career pathing, leadership development, network development, training and performance feedback

Note: Availability of the benefits and perks may be subject to your location, tenure and employment type. The Company reserves the right to alter these benefits and perks in whole or in part at any time.

*Benefit not eligible for seasonal employees

The Opportunity

Inventory Management:

  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts and full inventory audits to maintain accurate on-hand stock levels across the DC.
  • Track incoming and outgoing merchandise through the WMS/inventory system, ensuring accurate receipt confirmation, putaway, and pick location recording.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies at the source investigating root cause (mis-picks, mis-putaways, damage, shrink) before they compound into larger accuracy issues.

Merchandise Organization & Slotting:

  • Maintain organized, labeled storage locations across all zones (bulk, reserve, pick face) to support efficient putaway and pick paths.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly slotted, labeled, and stored per DC location standards to support pick accuracy and throughput targets.
  • Support slotting and re-slotting projects based on velocity, seasonality, and space utilization needs.

Support DC Operations:

  • Collaborate with associates, leads, supervisors, and the DC manager to align inventory accuracy and availability with outbound demand and inbound flow.
  • Assist with receiving, putaway, and replenishment of new shipments to keep pick locations stocked and available.
  • Coordinate with outbound/pick teams to flag stock shortages, location issues, or discrepancies before they impact order fulfillment.

Inventory Audits and Reporting:

  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc audits to verify inventory accuracy and compliance with DC inventory control policies.
  • Provide reports to DC leadership highlighting accuracy metrics, shrink trends, and recurring discrepancy patterns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who Thrives in This Role

You treat the product in this building as yours. When something looks wrong, you chase it. You do not need to be assigned a discrepancy to care about it, and you do not hand a problem back up the chain until you have taken it as far as you can.

You coach rather than direct. You would rather build a counter who understands why a variance happened than issue a correction and move on.

You are self reliant, and you take direction well. Those two pull against each other, and we mean both. Given a priority and a deadline, you find the path yourself. You are also able to commit fully to a decision you did not make and execute it without friction.

You are comfortable being the one who says the number is wrong. Accuracy work means telling people things they would rather not hear, and doing it in a way that keeps them working with you.

Requirements

The Must Haves

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse/DC operations, or related logistics environment.
  • Demonstrated strength in Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions such as XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, conditional formulas such as SUMIFS and COUNTIFS, and comfort working with large data sets. Working proficiency across Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a WMS or ERP environment with the ability to learn new systems quickly. Ours include Korber, NetSuite, Shopify, and GEEK+.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain findings to both floor associates and DC leadership.
  • Willingness to become certified on powered industrial equipment after hire. Prior certification is a plus.

Technology:

  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS): Proficiency using WMS software to manage inventory, locations, and movements.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: Familiarity with ERP systems for broader inventory and operations data (e.g., NetSuite).
  • Microsoft Office: Proficiency in Excel and Outlook for data tracking, reporting, and communication.

The Nice to Haves

  • Experience with a cycle count program in a multi channel retail or ecommerce environment.
  • Familiarity with structured problem solving such as 5 Whys.
  • Exposure to goods to person or automated storage and retrieval systems.
