FIELD SUPPORT SPECIALIST — Home Care

$30/hour  |  25 guaranteed hours/week  |  RI & MA service area

Synergy HomeCare is growing, and we're building a small team of our most trusted caregivers into a role that matters more than any single assignment.

If you're the caregiver other people call when a shift absolutely has to be covered — the one clients trust, the one who can walk into any home and make it work — this is built for you.

WHAT YOU'D DO

This is a field role, not a desk job. You'd be the person we send when it counts:

- Cover shifts for our clients who need consistency and don't accept just anyone.

- Get new clients started quickly and smoothly in their first days of service.

- Work alongside newer caregivers in the home — showing, not telling — so they get good, fast.

- Handle caregiver-to-caregiver handoffs so nothing gets dropped when a case changes hands.

- Take part in weeknight backup and a weekend on-call rotation (paid when you're called in).

You would NOT be doing office work, scheduling, or paperwork — we have people for that. Your job is to be excellent in the field.

WHAT WE OFFER

- $30 per hour — a premium over standard caregiver pay, because this is a premium role. This is your rate for every hour you work.

- 25 guaranteed hours every week. That's a floor, not a cap: it's the minimum you're paid even on a slow week when you're available and ready, and every hour you work above it is paid at the same rate. A busy week earns more.

- Extra pay when you pick up additional on-call coverage or an open shift beyond your regular schedule.

- A predictable schedule you can plan your life around — set days, one known backup weeknight, and weekend on-call roughly one weekend in four (confirmed in advance, paid when activated).

- Real support behind you and a direct line to leadership.

- The chance to grow with an agency that's expanding and invests in its best people.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Active RI CNA License is a must.

- A track record of reliability — you show up, on time, consistently.

- Strong hands-on skills: safe transfers and mobility, infection control, following a plan of care.

- Someone who connects quickly with clients and families, including the tough ones.

- Patience and skill to guide a newer caregiver without making them feel small.

- Good judgment under pressure and the sense to escalate when something's off.

- Reliable transportation, valid license and insurance, and willingness to travel across our service area (Northwest RI and lower Blackstone Valley MA) — this role isn't limited to a few nearby clients.

- Willingness to take the harder cases. That's the heart of the job.

AVAILABILITY THIS ROLE REQUIRES (please read before applying)

- Daytime availability for client coverage and field support across the week.

- One assigned weeknight as MOD (manager on duty) — available to stay into the evening (until roughly 8-9 PM) or cover a PM call-out if needed.

- A weekend MOD rotation, about one weekend in four, Friday evening through Sunday — paid when you're activated.

- Overnights are handled by arrangement, not as a standing requirement. We'll let you know if an overnight need comes up, and you let us know if it's a problem — we'll work around it where we can. Being strong at day and evening care doesn't rule you out of this role just because overnights aren't your thing.

If daytime, one evening a week, and a weekend MOD rotation work for you, we'd love to talk. If you can only take easy or nearby clients, this particular role won't be the right fit — but we may have other openings, so still reach out.

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience mentoring or training other caregivers.

- Experience with memory care or higher-acuity clients.

- Prior tenure with an agency across different client types.
