Job description

The Lake View Hotel is situated at the end of Main Street on historic Mackinac Island. With 80% of the island protected by a Michigan State Park the island is flush with outdoor recreational activities while having a vibrant business community and tourism industry. Mackinac Island is the number one tourist destination in the Midwest. No cars are on the island, just bicycle, foot and horse traffic. It is like going back in time! With over 10,000 visitors a day it is a great place to live and play.
We employ approximately 30 people over the course of the summer season from early May through October. We are looking for staff who are energetic and interested in meeting new people from other parts of the country as well as other cultures.
Responsibilities of the Housekeeping Supervisor include:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of room attendants, laundry attendants and housemen
  • Prepare and distribute room assignments and keys to housekeeping staff
  • Inspect guest rooms, update room status and find opportunities for service improvements
  • Answer radio calls promptly
  • Review and update inventory of supplies
  • Maintain high quality of housekeeping standards in all areas of the hotel
  • Submit requests for repair of cleaning equipment

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year management experience in hospitality industry
  • Flexible schedule, able to work weekends and holidays
