Join our dedicated team at Hospice of the Piedmont as a full-time Hospice Registered Nurse to manage cases and provide consistent, quality patient care. Hospice of the Piedmont is a life-changing, mission-driven organization offering flexibility and a team-based work environment with a supportive management team. Responsibilities:

Provide a nursing evaluation visit to new admissions.

Regularly re-evaluate patient needs.

Consult with the patient's practitioner.

Complete bedside documentation using the EMR.

Coordinate and manage services offered by team members.

Help ensure the final chapter of your patient's life is one of quality, compassion, and dignity.

Knowledge of hospice philosophy, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited nursing school and a valid license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Two years of relevant nursing experience is preferred.

Driver's license, personal automobile, and current automobile liability insurance.


Typical Physical Demands/Working Conditions: 

Must be prepared to work in home environments that have difficult working conditions including, but not limited to cramped space, pets, dirt, allergens smoke, limited seating 

The job requires regular use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls, and involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, walking, and climbing steps. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus 

It may be necessary at times for employees to work beyond scheduled work hours to ensure adequate patient care 

Communication by phone, writing, speaking; Regular use of computer screen and keyboarding are required

Able to push, pull, or lift 50 pounds, push up to 200 pounds in a wheelchair
