Full-Time Seasonal Job Opportunity

FLIPANY is seeking an Administrative Summer Camp Counselor to support the successful execution of summer camp operations through strong organization, data management, and leadership. This role combines direct camper supervision with administrative oversight, ensuring that all camp records, reporting, and operational processes are accurate, timely, and well-coordinated.


The Administrative Camp Counselor plays a key role in maintaining high-quality program delivery by managing data, supporting staff with administrative needs, and helping ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all campers.


Required Availability: June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026 / Monday-Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, Social Work, Project Management, Recreation, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in camp programming, youth services, administration, or a related role
  • Strong organizational, data management, and multitasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Experience with program coordination, reporting, and administrative systems (SAMIS experience preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage behavior and respond effectively in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to support and guide team members
  • Commitment to health, wellness, and youth development
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Knowledge of youth program safety standards and risk management practices
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole (preferred but not required)
  • Must pass Level II background screening.

Key Responsibilities:


Administrative & Data Management

  • Organize and maintain accurate records of camper attendance, medical information, and participation restrictions
  • Collect, track, and manage camp data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and completeness
  • Utilize required data management systems (including SAMIS, if applicable) to input and maintain records
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and end-of-program reports in a timely manner
  • Support camp staff with administrative requirements, including data entry and documentation
  • Maintain organized systems for tracking supplies, documentation, and reporting deadlines
  • Assist camp leadership with administrative functions and overall program coordination


Camp Operations & Staff Support

  • Assist in the coordination and daily execution of camp activities and schedules
  • Provide guidance and support to Junior Counselors and Counselors-in-Training
  • Assign and oversee daily setup and cleanup responsibilities for camp activities
  • Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to the Camp Manager
  • Participate in required training sessions and team meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all camp policies, procedures, and standard operating protocols


Camper Safety & Engagement

  • Supervise and guide campers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Lead and support structured camp activities, including games, arts & crafts, and outdoor recreation
  • Perform routine headcounts and actively monitor camper safety (hydration, safe play areas, etc.)
  • Address behavioral issues, conflicts, or emergencies with professionalism and care
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging camp environment
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating leadership, enthusiasm, and professionalism


Parent & Communication

  • Maintain professional and consistent communication with parents/guardians during drop-off and pick-up
  • Provide updates regarding camper participation, concerns, or notable achievements as needed
  • Communicate regularly with camp leadership regarding camper progress, operational needs, and program improvements


Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, risk management procedures, and camp policies
  • Follow all protocols outlined in the camp's standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and hazard-free camp environment
