Job description

We are a busy Gastroenterology office with 33 Providers. We are looking for a team-oriented individual to provide great customer service to our patients! This individual should show great attention to detail and a passion for healthcare. 

We are currently expanding our Practice by adding additional providers and several more procedure rooms! We are looking to bring on additional team members to help accommodate for the increased number of patients we will be seeing!

JOB TITLE:  Receptionist

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  Graciously greets, directs, and checks-in patients and visitors. Registers patients in the computer, verifies insurance information. Prepares charts.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greets patients, vendors and guests.  
  2. Registers patients. Verifies personal and insurance information. Verifies current health history is completed. Prepares charts. 
  3. Makes face sheets and pulls charts three days in advance of the scheduled appointment.  
  4. Oversees waiting area, coordinates patient movement, and reports problems.
  5. Opens the office.
  6. Labels and files various forms and patient paperwork.
  7. Cleans and tidies the patient waiting areas. 
  8. Maintains knowledge of and adheres to established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
  9. Participates in organizational and departmental goals and performance improvement activities.
  10. Participates in personal and professional growth by attending in-services/educational workshops and scheduled departmental meetings.
  11. Maintains patient confidentiality.
  12. Keeps regular and punctual attendance.
  13. Organizes and prioritizes work to complete responsibilities according to plan within established time frames.
  14. Performs other tasks and special assignments as directed by the supervisor.

EDUCATION:  High school graduation or GED.

EXPERIENCE: 

  1. One year of work experience in a medical setting preferred.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
  3. Word processing and computer experience required.

WAGE: $16.50/hour - $19.00/hour depending on experience

HOURS: Rotating shifts between 6:00am - 3:30pm & 7:00am - 4:30pm. This position would have most Friday afternoons off.
