Company Overview
We are a specialty subcontractor headquartered in Springfield, Oregon, providing rock drilling, blasting, and portable crushing services. Our drilling operations support a range of sectors, including renewable energy, data center and warehouse development, and surface mining.
This role supports our portable crushing division, which operates throughout Oregon to produce aggregate for use as base rock in construction projects. We also operate retail quarries that supply materials to contractors and the general public. Position Overview
The Crushing Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the mechanical functions of our portable rock crushing operations. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and uptime of crushing equipment through routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repairs. This position works out of our portable rock crushing plant(s), which are typically stationed in Creswell, Salem, Silverton, Roseburg, or Central Oregon. Travel is generally Monday through Friday, following the schedule of the crushing plant.
Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required depending on operational needs and plant availability.

Compensation:
  • $28-$38.00/hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • Experience & Technical Skills: 3+ years of experience performing mechanical maintenance or millwright work on industrial or aggregate processing equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, screens). Must have working knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems (bearings, motors, shafts, gearboxes) and be proficient in basic welding and metal fabrication to support equipment repair and upkeep.
  • Education: Technical or vocational training related to mechanics, diesel technology, or millwright work is preferred.
  • Driver License: Valid driver’s license with a driving record that includes no more than 3 moving violations and/or chargeable accidents in the last 3 years and no DUIIs.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel with the portable crushing plant (typically Monday–Friday), within Oregon.
  • Background check: Background check through the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to screen felony records as appropriate in compliance with federal government restrictions.
  • Pre-employment drug test and physical: We conduct random drug tests and post-accident drug testing. For safety reasons, we have a zero-tolerance drug policy, including marijuana use.

Job Responsibilities
  • Mechanical Repairs: Performs mechanical repairs on crushing equipment, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, screens, and conveyors.
  • Heavy Equipment Maintenance: Maintains and support heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, excavators, and dozers.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conducts regular inspections and maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Component Replacement: Replaces worn or damaged parts including bearings, belts, rollers, screens, and wear plates.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Uses basic welding and fabrication skills to repair or reinforce plant components.
  • Parts Coordination: Assists with identifying parts needs and communicating with purchasing or supervision to ensure timely procurement.
  • Plant Relocation Support: Assists with dismantling and reassembling plant components during portable plant moves.
  • Worksite Housekeeping: Keeps the work area clean, organized, and aligned with safety expectations.
  • Operator Support: Provide mechanical assistance to Crushing Plant Operators as needed.
