Job description

Position Summary/Purpose:

The Athletic Marketing & Promotions Coordinator plays an essential role in promoting the GCU Athletics brand by supporting marketing strategies, fan engagement initiatives, and gameday operations. This position offers a hands-on experience in the dynamic world of sports marketing and is ideal for students passionate about athletics, event management, and digital promotion. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a creative mindset.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

Execute integrated marketing campaigns, promotional events, and game day experiences that increase attendance, enhance fan engagement, and support ticket sales, including theme nights, campus activations, giveaways, and grassroots outreach.

Serve as a collaborative member of the Athletics Marketing and Game Entertainment teams by assisting with game production, promotional execution, fan experiences, halftime entertainment, sponsor activations, and event operations.

Build and strengthen relationships with fans, youth organizations, alumni, and community partners by supporting the Future Havocs Club, maintaining engagement databases, analyzing campaign performance, and representing GCU Athletics at campus and community events while contributing to departmental goals and revenue growth.

Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills

Passion for collegiate athletics, marketing, fan engagement, and event management.

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-me student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
