Forensic/Autopsy Pathologist Opening in North CarolinaLocation: Greenville, North Carolina Raleigh 80mFull TimePermanent Position Seeking BC/BE Forensic/Autopsy Pathologist to join a dynamic and well-established pathology department. This opportunity supports the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at a 974-bed Level I trauma center affiliated with a leading medical school.Position Highlights: Join two experienced forensic pathologists and a dedicated pathologist assistant Annual caseload includes: - 600 - 650 medicolegal autopsies - 500 - 550 external exams - 80 - 100 hospital medical autopsies Direct teaching of residents, fellows, medical students, and law enforcement professionals Provide expert witness testimony in court and consult with attorneys Opportunity for academic appointment at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University Qualifications: MD/DO degree Board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic & Clinical Pathology Board certified/eligible in Forensic Pathology (must obtain certification within 1 year if not already certified) Clinical Duties Include: Autopsy direction, execution, and documentation Determination of cause and manner of death Microscopic and toxicologic analysis Court testimony and legal consultations Review of investigative reports and literature Compensation and Benefits: Competitive base salary with annual administrative stipend Relocation assistance Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability Malpractice with tail coverage Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays 401(k) and 457(b) retirement plans Eligibility for loan repayment, sign-on bonus, income guarantees, and fellowship stipends This role offers the chance to live and work in Greenville, NC, a vibrant and affordable city near the Atlantic Coast, with easy access to Raleigh and other metropolitan areas.
