Description
The J is hiring enthusiastic and knowledgeable football coaches for our Blitz program, which serves boys and girls in PreK through 1st grades.
Our coaches will provide instruction and share their knowledge of the game to young players. The J's football instructional program emphasizes skill development, self-discipline and safety and teaches the value of good sportsmanship. Experience as a coach/player is required.
Schedule
We are hiring reliable part-time staff to assist with training sessions on weeknights and to coach games on weekends for youth PreK-1st grade.
Essential Functions
  • Plan and conduct football drills at practices
  • Develop and implement game strategies
  • Mentor and motivate players
  • Help set up and tear down equipment
  • Maintain a positive and safe environment for all participants
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents and staff

Requirements
  • Knowledge of flag football rules and strategies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience working with children preferred, must be able to work with various age groups and skill levels
  • Experience as a coach/player is required
  • Able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR (if required)

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing, walking and exposure to the weather outdoors
  • Frequent walking/running, eye/hand/foot coordination, talking and hearing to demonstrate and execute skills
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. to move equipment as needed
