Description
The Travel Youth Tackle Football Coach is responsible for coaching and developing young athletes in the sport of tackle football, preparing them for competition at a more advanced level. This role focuses on skill development, team building, and fostering a strong work ethic while prioritizing safety and sportsmanship.
Examples of Duties
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive tackle football training programs, focusing on skill development, game strategies, fitness conditioning, and player safety.
  2. Plan and execute regular team practices and drills, providing individualized coaching and feedback to players.
  3. Teach and enforce the rules, techniques, and etiquette of tackle football, emphasizing sportsmanship and fair play.
  4. Create a safe, challenging, and inclusive team environment that encourages player development and teamwork.
  5. Organize and manage team schedules for practices, games, and tournaments, including travel arrangements if necessary.
  6. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and guardians regarding team schedules, expectations, and player progress.
  7. Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to help athletes improve their skills.
  8. Supervise assistant coaches, volunteers, and support staff, if applicable.
  9. Maintain and inventory team equipment, ensuring proper care and reporting any maintenance or replacement needs.

Qualifications
  1. Previous coaching experience in tackle football, especially with youth or intermediate-level players.
  2. Strong knowledge of tackle football rules, techniques, and strategies.
  3. Excellent communication and leadership skills, especially when working with young athletes and their families.
  4. Passion for coaching and motivating young players, helping them develop their skills and a strong work ethic.
  5. First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  6. Background check may be required.
