Job Title: Postgraduate Assistant Football Coach, Seasonal

FLSA Classification: Seasonal (Juneโ€“December)
Position Summary: The Seasonal Postgraduate Assistant Football Coach supports the delivery of the IMG Academy football program for postgraduate student-athletes. This role is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of training sessions, position development, game preparation, and overall mentorship of student-athletes during the football season. The coach will work closely with the football staff, performance team, and academic support staff to ensure each student-athlete is progressing athletically, academically, and personally while preparing for college football opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of daily football training sessions and position-specific development.
  • Support the development and execution of practice plans, film review, and game preparation.
  • Evaluate and monitor the athletic development and skill progression of postgraduate student-athletes.
  • Partner with performance coaches, athletic trainers, and academic staff to support the holistic development of each student-athlete.
  • Assist in preparing student-athletes mentally and physically for practices and competitions.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture aligned with IMG Academy values.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for postgraduate student-athletes on and off the field.
  • Support college placement efforts by assisting with athlete evaluations, film preparation, and communication with recruiting staff.
  • Contribute to the retention and overall experience of student-athletes within the football program.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, and internal staff regarding development and program expectations.
  • Assist with operational needs including team travel, events, and competitions.
  • Ensure a safe training and competition environment for all participants.
  • Travel with teams to games, showcases, and recruiting events as required.
  • Adhere to all IMG Academy policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by football leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Experience coaching and/or playing football at the collegiate or professional level.
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, position development, and practice organization.
  • Ability to teach and develop student-athletes in a structured training environment.
  • Strong commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary sports performance environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to mentor and positively influence postgraduate student-athletes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in sports management, education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with high school or postgraduate student-athletes.
  • Bilingual abilities.
  • CPR/AED Certification.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to assist with team travel.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Ability to move throughout campus facilities including fields, weight rooms, and meeting spaces.
  • Ability to stand, demonstrate drills, and participate in on-field instruction.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the football season.
