Job description

We seek a service-oriented full-time Registered Nurse [RN] responsible for ensuring optimal patient outcomes post-surgery in our Recovery Care Unit. The Registered Nurse directly contributes to patient recovery and well-being by assessing patients, executing treatments, and maintaining clear communication with providers, patients, caregivers, and hospital staff. Successful Registered Nurses possess diverse skills in effective emergency response, critical thinking, infection control knowledge, proficiency in electronic medical records, technical competence, interpersonal abilities, and organizational skills. Registered Nurses are offered learning and professional growth opportunities through quality improvement initiatives, mentoring and training new staff, peer engagement activities, and networking.

SHIFTS: Three 12-hour shifts per week, every third weekend [partial weekends] and every third holiday.

SCHEDULE: This position is scheduled to work both 12-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shifts (7AM-7:30PM or 7PM-7:30AM). In a 6-week schedule, you can anticipate working 2 weeks of nights (6 shifts).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
  • Licensed in the State of South Dakota, or able to obtain upon hire.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required; can be obtained upon hire.

At our surgical specialty hospital, the 33-bed Recovery Care Unit is a vital component for the continuation of care for our surgical patients needing an overnight stay. On average, our patients stay 1-2 nights, where our dedicated team prioritizes a patient-centered approach to care.
