Job Summary
SUMMARY
This person serves as a flag football referee for youth, recreational games. Duties include calling violations/penalties, keeping time, keeping score, and acting as a coach/instructor to aid in the overall success of the league. Games are played on Wednesday nights with Monday as a makeup option. Expected hours are 2-4 per week. All games are at Northside Park.
Job Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as an official for youth flag football games including calling penalties, keeping time, and keeping score
  • Assist coaches to help players line up properly prior to a play
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversight of players and coaches before, during and after games.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic knowledge of football/flag football rules
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalent required.

Supplemental Information
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
