Job description

Position: Vice President of Finance

Department: Abacus Finance

Reports To: Executive Leadership

Employment Status: Full-Time, Exempt (Hybrid in office)

Office Location: 22 Vanderbilt New York, NY

Abacus Finance Group, LLC is a leading direct lending and private credit investment firm providing tailored, cash-flow-based senior secured debt solutions to private-equity-sponsored lower-middle-market companies. Headquartered in New York with a significant operating presence in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Abacus continues to expand its credit platform, including SBIC-licensed investment vehicles.

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing fund accounting, financial reporting, partnership economics, finance operations, and SBIC regulatory financial oversight across all Abacus investment vehicles and GP entities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own daily fund accounting operations, capital calls, distributions, allocations, waterfalls, and GP economics
  • Lead financial reporting, audits, tax coordination, and third-party administrators
  • Provide transaction and funds-flow oversight for acquisitions and exits
  • Oversee SBIC regulatory compliance, Form 468 filings, leverage monitoring, and SBA examinations
  • Partner with Investor Relations on LP reporting and fundraising support
  • Drive process improvement, controls, and team development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • 8+ years of private credit, PE, or SBIC fund finance experience
  • Deep partnership accounting and regulatory knowledge
  • CPA preferred

Compensation:

  • Total compensation package of $175,000 - $200,000 including pension plan, health benefits, and 401K.
