Job Summary

The Health Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the extraction, analysis, and dissemination of data to support grant reporting, quality improvement, and health center operations. Using intermediate to advanced data management and analysis tools the Health Data Analyst will query electronic medical record (EMR) data; create reports and dashboards; collaborate with department leads to monitor and evaluate programs; and effectively communicate data-driven insights to a variety of stakeholders. This role aids WWH and our stakeholders in understanding the health and needs of the patients that we serve.

RoleSpecificPrimary EssentialDuties:

  • Creates reports, dashboards and visualizations by querying/extracting, validating, and analyzing quantitative data on health center services and operations using SQL Server Management Studio; SQL, Epic Reporting Workbench, Epic Dashboards, MS Excel and PowerBI.
  • Requirement to obtain Epic Cogito certification by completing courses and passing associated projects and exams within 6 months of hire. Epic courses include Cogito Fundamentals, Clarity Data Model, Caboodle Data Model, Clinical Data Model and Access Data Model
  • Manages Ryan White CAREWare software configuration and data imports
  • Prepares data for grant reporting; demographic counts; patient populations; service provision and utilization; and ad hoc requests as needed to support health center planning and initiatives.

  • Synthesizes data from across a wide variety of reporting systems; city data registries; payer-based platforms; health information exchanges; and population health management platforms
  • Executes quality improvement projects as specified in the WWH Quality Management Plan.
  • Contributes to preparation for bimonthly Clinical Quality committee meeting by analyzing data and creating visualizations regarding: clinical quality performance; project updates; and evaluation of WWH programs.
  • Attends external meetings with health center stakeholders in order to advance data and quality improvement initiatives
  • Communicate with care teams to understand their processes in order to develop reports that provide insights for improving patient care
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to validate and ensure the accuracy of data in reports, supporting informed decision-making and maintaining data integrity.
  • Participates in management meetings to act upon a variety of matters including personnel matters and provides updates and reports as requested
  • Supporting management in fact finding efforts concerning managerial actions or union grievance processing
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for changes to collective bargaining agreements and the Employee Handbook to ensure ongoing compliance

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Ability to design clear and compelling charts and graphs
  • Knowledge of EMR configuration and EMR reporting tools preferred
  • Knowledge of health plan data warehouse features, such as claims analytics, member panels management; risk adjustment; utilization analytics; cost analytics; quality metrics
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and track data requests effectively

  • Developed presentation skills, including the ability to verbally and graphically communicate complex data analyses to a range of audiences, including clinicians, patients, and the public.
  • Experience with public health and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Some knowledge of the requirements of Federally-Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and the Ryan White Care Act is preferred.
EducationandExperienceRequired:
  • Bachelor’sdegreeorcertifiedtraininginDataManagementandAnalysis; Public Health; Evaluation; Epidemiology; Biostatistics; Database Management; or Health Informatics.
  • Three years of experience in data management or analysis preferred
  • Knowledge of Epic EMR preferred
  • Less than 1 year of experience working with a broadly diverse population and the ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals are required.
  • Less than 1 year of experience working with members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Gender Expansive, Queer, Asexual, and Intersexed communities preferred.
  • Less than 1 year of experience working with people living with HIV or issues related to HIV care preferred.
