Environmental Engineer - Springfield, MO

The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for environmental issues (air, water, hazardous waste, and contaminated soil/groundwater), assist in environmental safety and health engineering projects, conduct environmental monitoring, prepare various reports to agencies and the Company, and other duties as assigned. Work with Corporate EH&S to ensure the site is managing environmental compliance as required.

Responsibilities

ย ย ย ย Direct and coordinate plant activities and programs for maintaining environmental compliance
ย ย ย ย Coordinate selection of programs and technologies to reduce waste generation and emissions
ย ย ย ย Review current and proposed safety, health and environmental regulations, standards and guidance for impact at Curia facilities
ย ย ย ย Provide guidance and training of site activities for environmental compliance
ย ย ย ย Prepare environmental reports and submissions as required by Federal, State and local regulations and Curia requirements
ย ย ย ย Monitor programs to reduce emissions from air, water, hazardous waste, and groundwater remediation
ย ย ย ย Interpret environmentally regulated programs such as bulk chemical and petroleum storage, air permits, wastewater discharge, contaminated soil/groundwater, hazardous waste treatment/storage/disposal, and SARA reporting as needed and recommend/implement actions where necessary
ย ย ย ย Provide support as necessary to the site EHS leader to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local and Curia environmental requirements
ย ย ย ย Project management of environmental, safety and health projects
ย ย ย ย Function independently
ย ย ย ย Recommend and implement methods to increase the quality of products and/or services
ย ย ย ย Participate in self-development activities and training of others
ย ย ย ย Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices

Required

ย ย ย ย BA/BS Degree in a relevant field and 3 years of related work experience;ย 
OR
ย ย ย ย MA/MS Degree in a relevant field and 1 years of related work experience

Other Qualifications

ย ย ย ย Must pass a background check
ย ย ย ย Must pass a drug screen
ย ย ย ย May be required to pass Occupational Health Screening
ย ย ย ย May be required to obtain and maintain gowning certificationย 
ย ย ย ย May be required to obtain and maintain media qualification
