Job description

Environmental Research Group, LLC (ERG) is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Compliance Team to support a variety of environmental compliance projects. When not performing work at various project sites, this position can be based anywhere in the USA with preference given to candidates that reside within an hour commute of a regional or international airport.The Environmental Scientist is expected to support and lead a variety of projects, working both independently and as part of a team. An experienced multi-disciplinary background is valued for this position. You will plan and execute technical projects, conduct regulatory research, write reports, support permitting process, conduct site visits and surveys, and collaborate with a team, while remaining flexible to prioritize clients' needs and deadlines.This position requires traveling on average one week per month for fieldwork and site visits, with durations of 3 to 14 days on site. Some international travel would be required with this position. The field work can include working indoors, outdoors, and/or industrial locations, and wearing Level D Personal Protective Equipment.Founded in 2000, ERG provides environmental compliance, natural resources, and cultural resources consulting services. Master's degree, Professional Engineer, and/or relevant certifications are a plus.Working knowledge of federal environmental programs. Knowledge and experience with Department of War (DoW) environmental policy is a plus.Excellent interpersonal communication, writing skills, and attention to detail.Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and be responsive.Flexibility to serve in multiple roles and teams depending on the client and project.Must be able to pass DoW security clearances and background checks and obtain a passport.US citizenship required.Knowledge and Experience The position requires experience with multiple federal and state environmental regulatory areas, with a focus in one or more programs including but not limited to environmental compliance auditing and inspections; Environmental Management System; solid waste, toxic substances, spill response, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, storage tanks, air quality, and/or resilience.Experience with environmental auditing and public involvement are a plus.Experience in preparing and writing environmental plans, permits, and reports, and conducting environmental audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.Experience in providing environmental project support to clients, including conducting site visits as needed. Work experience with federal government agencies, DoW, and state environmental agencies.Relevant environmental and technical certifications and trainings are a plus.The annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000, commensurate with experience, and bonuses are offered for exceptional performance.
