Description
What You'll Do:
• Perform inspections, interviews, technical reviews and make recommendations for corrective actions as needed; conduct facility audits and inspections; review permit applications against permit requirements and regulations; and draft correspondence and/or permits in accordance with rules, regulations and established procedures.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data, reaching valid conclusions.
• Prepare reports in connection with related field activities such as field verifications and compliance assessments.
• Ensure accuracy of recordkeeping, reporting, and facility regulatory compliance by conducting site visits.
• Prepare and submit Tier II and TRI EPCRA Reports to state agencies and EPA.
• Experience authoring or reviewing environmental review records site-specific environmental reviews, categorical exclusions, or environmental assessments is preferred.
• Identifies and meets the needs of clients within established guidelines.
• Works collaboratively with project team and client to achieve established goals.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including ability to prioritize and multi-task under strict deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to succeed with new and challenging tasks.
• Possess excellent communication (written and oral) skills, including technical report writing and data evaluation capabilities as well as detailed field (on-site) observations and associated documentation.
• Exhibit a high customer service priority.
• Operate a variety of office and technical equipment and computers, including those used for environmental inspections and investigations.
• Operate safety devices and equipment and apply proper safety procedures in hazardous environments.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the skills to operate or work on various types of environmental projects.

• 20-30% travel time may be required.

Requirements
Minimum Required Key Qualifications:
  • BS in Environmental engineering, environmental sciences, environmental management, or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience in federal or state environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to air, solid and hazardous waste, and water quality permitting and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulatory regulations and guidance including CERCLA, CAA, CWA, FIFRA, NEPA, OPA, OSHA, RCRA,and TSCA.
  • Regulatory permitting, environmental compliance, and liabilities management experience, including preparing RCRA and CAA permit applications, supporting documents and plans, and leading regulatory compliance inspections or audits.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour and supervisor certified.
  • Ability to implement regulatory compliance tasks such as preparing permit applications, waste determinations, emissions inventories, and reporting.
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to work with little supervision.
  • Outstanding communication both written and verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail and a results driven approach.
  • Understands task expectations and how tasks fit in the overall project.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Reliable and Trustworthy
  • EIT highly desired, with the ability to obtain PE within 2 years.
  • Project management experience a plus!

Software Skills:
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite software, and Adobe products
• Familiarity with SAS, Minitab, Tableau, EQuIS, Scribe, and VSP
• Familiarity with AERMOD, CALPUFF, MODFLOW or other modeling software
