Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Responsibilities
This position, located in Muskegon County, MI, provides technical support to ensure continuous flow of parts, materials, and information by addressing issues that arise to drive velocity through the plant. The Engineering Technician acts as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and other functions, supporting process control, tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay: $25.50/hr (non-negotiable)
Openings: 4 openings, 2 for weekend days and 2 for weekend nights

Job Roles
- Perspective – Understands production flow and anticipates where issues may arise; reviews data to identify root causes; provides information to support process decisions.
- People support – Coordinates with supervisors and operators to keep information flowing; communicates updates on issues and resolutions across the plant.

- Ownership – Takes accountability for identifying and resolving issues to root cause; supports a culture of continuous improvement and cost reduction.
- Troubleshooting – Applies problem-solving techniques to address issues impacting velocity; escalates concerns as needed to ensure smooth plant operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and other functions to expedite product flow.
- Continually addresses issues using problem-solving techniques that impact velocity, resolving issues to root cause.
- Proactively identifies and addresses potential problems or constraints in the production process for improvements or cost reduction.
- Interacts with engineering to drive tooling, NPI, and process improvements.
- Supports engineering and manufacturing with data collection, compiling information and analysis to support process control.
- Coordinates information flow, reviewing shift reports and connecting with supervisors to determine areas for focus, communicating material requests, and providing updates on issues and resolutions to appropriate functions within the plant.
- Keeps workstations stocked with material replenishment.
- Supports operations as a contact for out-of-cycle tasks related to raw materials, parts, waste removal, moving kanban cards, updates to electronic productivity and status boards, missing instructions, and quality issues.
- Coordinates with engineering to understand risk of deviations and variations in processes.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of work experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
- Understanding of production processes and manufacturing related metrics.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
