Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a TX or compact license for a multi-specialty surgical unit requiring on-call and weekend availability.

Details
  • Operating Room unit within a hospital setting
  • 10-bed unit with 54 staff including RNs, CSTs, first assists, PCTs, anesthesia techs, a supervisor, and a director
  • 1:1 patient ratios
  • Multi-specialty surgical equipment used
  • EMR currently Meditech, transitioning to Expanse
  • Day shift schedule from 0700-1900
  • Night shift is on-call only
  • No floating required
  • On-call required weekly plus one weekend per month
Requirements
  • Active TX or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, urology, and gyn required
  • ENT and vascular (non-cardiac) experience preferred
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Perform circulating and/or scrub duties for open, laparoscopic, and robotic general surgical cases such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and some bariatric procedures
  • Support robotic orthopedic procedures including total knees and hips, as well as trauma orthopedic cases
  • Assist with laparoscopic/robotic hysterectomies, tubal ligations, and emergent gynecological interventions
  • Team-oriented environment requiring initiative and adaptability to keep daily operations moving smoothly
  • Cobalt blue scrub attire required
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
