Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVICU RN for a 12-week night shift travel contract requiring cardiac and neuro experience, Epic proficiency, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details
  • Acute care hospital CVICU setting with 276 staffed beds
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12s, 7p-7a
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation
  • No on-call required
  • Floating within scope to like units is required, with travelers floating first
  • Charting performed in Epic
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Free parking on-site
Requirements
  • Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered if proof of application is provided, but must have an active SC license prior to start
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of CVICU experience required (2 years preferred)
  • Cardiac and neuro experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
  • Pre-assignment online modules are required to be completed before the start date
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
