Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of ICU or Stepdown experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details
  • Work in the Stepdown unit of a 12-bed hospital facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 7p-7a
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Holiday rotation required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required to like units or sister facilities, with agency staff floating first
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active SC or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff at the facility system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
Additional Information
  • Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and post-cardiac procedure care
  • Skills may include IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, and wound care
  • Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, craniotomy, and traumatic brain injury is valued
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • Free parking provided
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience
  • Candidates residing within a 60-mile radius are not accepted for this position
  • Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak activity in August and September)
  • Block scheduling accommodation may be requested but is not guaranteed
