MTK Healthcare is hiring for the position of RNFA – RN First Assistant (CVOR)

Facility: Boone Health
Location: Columbia, MO 65201
Shift: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM | 4x10 Hour Days | 40 Hours per Week
Call Requirement: 10 Days per Month
Schedule: No Weekends (Unit Closed on Weekends)
EMR: Meditech
Weekly Gross Pay: $3,000 – $3,400 per week

Position Overview

Boone Health is seeking an experienced RN First Assistant (RNFA) for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). The RNFA will directly assist CVOR surgeons during complex cardiovascular and vascular surgical procedures while ensuring exceptional patient care and surgical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct intraoperative assistance to CVOR surgeons during surgical procedures

  • Control bleeding, provide wound exposure, perform suturing, and handle tissue appropriately

  • Assist with open and endoscopic vein harvesting procedures

  • Support cardiovascular and vascular surgical cases while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety standards

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams to ensure optimal surgical outcomes

Required Experience & Skills

Candidates must be proficient in:

  • CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)

  • MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement)

  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)

  • AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement)

  • Open and Endoscopic Leg Vein Harvest

  • Endoluminal AAA Procedures

  • Thoracic Procedures

  • CEAs (Carotid Endarterectomy)

  • Vascular Surgical Procedures

Requirements
  • Active RN License required

  • RNFA Certification required

  • Minimum 2–3 years of CVOR RNFA experience required

  • Must have strong experience with both open and endoscopic vein harvesting

  • Excellent surgical assisting and communication skills required
