Position Overview

The Drill Operator is responsible for operating automatic and hand-fed fastener drilling machines while ensuring quality standards and production goals are met. This role works closely with the Plant Manager and production team to manufacture precision fasteners safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up machines and change tooling as required
  • Operate automatic and hand-feed drilling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure quality standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints to produce parts to specification
  • Use precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers
  • Move completed parts to the next stage of production
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Follow all company safety policies and production procedures
  • Assist with additional manufacturing duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and use calipers
  • Ability to read and use micrometers
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills
  • Good mathematical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and reliability

Preferred:

  • Experience in the fastener manufacturing industry
  • Experience setting up and changing tooling
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and work for 8-12 hour shifts
