Job description

VCS is looking for General Operators for one of our client.

  • Pay Rate: $19- 20.25/hr.
  • Location: El Paso, IL 61738
  • Shift Times:  DAY SHIFT 7:30am - 4:00pm

      EVENING SHIFT 3:30pm - 12:00am (No evening shift until the end of September)

      MIDNIGHT SHIFT 11:30pm - 8:00am

  • Contact: 6+ Months with possible extension 
  • Should be available to work for 12 hrs. in a day whenever required     

Job Description:

Please note: WORKERS WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THE FIRST WEEK OF ONBOARDING/TRAINING ON THE DAY SHIFT (7:30am-4pm M-F)***
Work Week is Monday - Friday with very limited overtime and weekend work once certified.
The Packaging Contractor operates assigned equipment in the Dry Herbicide packaging lines and
performs operations related activities assigned by shift leader. This person will need operations
knowledge to operate the equipment in a safe and optimal manner. The job requires a highly
motivated person for an 8-hour fix shift. (or 12-hour shift based on business needs)
Packaging contractors have a limited scope of tasks that would be accomplished each day. Tasks
include general housekeeping, loading containers onto conveyors, packing boxes, stacking boxes onto
pallets, operating stretch wrap machines.
Responsibilities – What You Will Do:
Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment.
As required, participate in Root Cause analysis.
Perform immediate response activities assigned by Immediate Response Leader.
Complete required site certification in a timely manner.
Adherence to safety and standard operating procedures/practices.
Perform basic process equipment troubleshooting.
Load/unload materials and freight, final product packaging, moving and mixing raw materials and
transfer to vessels.
Warehousing activities including forklift operation, collecting samples, etc.
Various other duties as assigned.
Education/Certification/Capabilities required:
You have your High School Diploma/GED.
You are also willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion
and/or repetitive lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:
Forklift operation experience.
Basic computer proficiency.
Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and
Standardized Work.
Worked in or around manufacturing but again not required.
