Job description

We are looking to add CNC Lathe(Haas) Machine Operator to work 1st and 2nd shift, Monday – Friday.

Reporting to the Production Lead, Operator role involves the following:

· This position will be trained to Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes and mills.

· Learn to perform machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, on machined parts to specifications set forth in, drawings.

· Checks machined parts for conformance to part prints using basic shop inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, sine plates, etc.)

· Learn to read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.

· Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine

· Learn to load program in machine or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base

· Discusses programming opportunities of improvement with supervisor to resolve problems or improve performance.

· Clean machine, tooling, and parts

· Perform machine maintenance

· Clean-up of work area, and other areas of the facility as asked adhering to 5S principles

· May be asked to assist in other plant functions under direct supervision of the shop team lead

· Performs other duties as assigned or needed to better a department or company

· Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or

· Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

· This position may require long hours and weekend work due to production, rework or customer deadlines

· Experience with CNC Haas lathe is a plus.

Requirements:

· Ability to set up cutting tools and prove out new programs using set up sheets

· 1-2 years of relative experience required

· Experience working with CNC lathes and mills required
