Cheese Plant Packaging - Maintenance Technician  Position SummaryThe Packaging Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing packaging equipment. This position supports safe, reliable, and efficient packaging operations by responding promptly to maintenance requests, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and identifying potential equipment issues before they result in downtime. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, works well independently, and has experience repairing industrial or food-processing equipment. Electrical, welding, and fabrication experience is preferred.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, repair, and maintain packaging machinery.Perform scheduled preventative maintenance according to established checklists and procedures.Conduct routine visual inspections of packaging equipment.Assist with equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and improvement projects.Perform welding and fabrication work when qualified and needed.Perform other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned.Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, GMPs, and food-safety policies.QualificationsPrevious mechanical maintenance or industrial equipment repair experience is preferred.Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.Ability to read & understand equipment electrical schematics.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision.Basic understanding of PLC programming preferred.Knowledge of robotic programming preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas as required.Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment. Day Shift Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
