Summary:
Beaver Aerospace & Defense is hiring a seasoned Quality Inspector to join our 1st shift team, with flexibility on start time, inspecting high-precision aerospace and defense components against tolerances as tight as .00001" to .00005. Our products fly on some of the most demanding platforms in the world - there is no margin for "almost right."
This is a fast-paced, floor-active role. You'll split your time across floor inspection, lab work, and documentation, interfacing directly with peers, source inspectors, government inspectors, and customers. You'll make decisive judgment calls under pressure, Quality = Quality and we expect speed and precision, every time.
Main responsibilities:
  • Inspect product against engineering drawings and work instructions across machining processes including Lathe, Milling, Drilling, Deep Hole, OD/ID Grinding, Thread Grinding, and NDT.
  • Perform First Article (FAI), Critical-to-Quality (CTQ), receiving, in-process, floor, and final inspections.
  • Set up and operate CMM (Calipso software), calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other industry-standard precision measurement equipment.
  • Inspect to tolerances ranging from .00001" to .00005.
  • Maintain the gauge calibration system - verify due dates and condition, coordinate third-party calibration, and ensure out-of-cal gages are removed from service.
  • Generate and distribute detailed, legible Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Communicating quality issues clearly and thoroughly across shifts - handoff communication is critical.
  • Interface professionally with customers, source inspectors, and government inspectors during on-site visits and product reviews.
  • Prioritize inspection workload across multiple active jobs and balance high-stakes ship decisions with quality integrity.
  • Complete documentation required for traceability, compliance, and shipping.
  • Perform internal audits assigned.
  • Work to and uphold the Beaver Quality System procedures.
Our ideal candidate:
Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of quality assurance and inspection experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Proficiency with CMM operation, including Calipso software.
  • Demonstrated proficiency reading blueprints and complex engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other industry-standard inspection tools.
  • Working understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience inspecting tight tolerances (.0001" or tighter).
  • Ability to work 1st shift, with flexibility on start time, plus overtime and weekends as production demands.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic PC and data entry skills.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements.
Differentiators - is a plus:
  • Magnetic Particle (MT) inspection experience or other NDT certifications.
  • Heat treat inspection knowledge.
  • Government or source inspection experience.
  • J-STD electrical standard familiarity.
  • IPC-A-620 (wire harness/cable assembly) familiarity.
  • Prior aerospace, defense, or DoD program inspection experience.
Shift & schedule:
1st shift, with flexibility on start time. Overtime and weekend availability required during peak production cycles.
Reliable on-time attendance is essential.
Work culture and environment:
Are you known as an innovation driver? Are you looking for your next challenge and opportunity to learn and excel in aerospace? Hรฉroux-Devtek offers you the opportunity to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment where skills development is a top priority. Be part of a motivating top-notch team taking aerospace to new heights.
Candidates must meet security screening requirements as set out by ITAR directives.
