Who We Want
Miller Industries is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector for our 1st Shift in Fenton, Michigan. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, with overtime as required for production on weekends.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections and assessments of manufacturing activities, including part alignment and visual evaluations.
  • Guarantee adherence to welding standards and documentations, specifically AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
  • Facilitate welder qualification tests, including minor destructive evaluations.
  • Manage records and reports related to welding inspections and process compliance.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and compliance by examining welding equipment daily.
  • Analyze fabrication blueprints and incorporate them into quality check procedures.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the company's Quality Assurance initiatives.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

What Requirements Are Needed
  • Certified Welding Inspector.
  • High school diploma required, with a preference for advanced education.
  • NDT Level ll preferred.
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • A minimum of five years of hands-on welding experience.
  • Extensive understanding of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code and manufacturing processes is essential.
  • Expertise in maintaining detailed documentation, inspections, and quality control.
  • Proficient in MS Office and adept at leveraging technology for documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Physical amp; Mental Requirements
Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties. Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
