Big Spring State Hospital LVN Need
6 LVNs
Contractor shall provide the following services to patients at the Facility:
Licensed Vocational Nurse performs various patient care duties, under the supervision of the Unit RN and Unit Nurse Manager.
Requirements:
  • Must possess valid LVN license
  • Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements
  • Must submit to HHSC required drug test
  • Must submit to HHSC required fingerprinting
  • Must complete facility and HHSC required training
Responsibilities:
  • Provide care for patients - manage medication administration and treatments; provide medication education and complete documentation.
  • Perform computer data entry - Receive full training
  • Comply with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet standards for accrediting agencies; specifically, Joint Commission guidelines, CMS Standards, BSH Policy and Directives and HHSC Standards, Rules and Directives.
Requested Schedule:
  • Shifts are alternating to meet staffing needs. Every other weekend off. Able to start any day during the week (M-F), given 5 days before start date for processing all pre-employment requirements.
  • 40-hours/week
  • Minimum of 2-3 weeks of on unit mentorship with a seasoned LVN
  • Term of commitment 6 months
