Fox News Digital is looking for an experienced Senior Editorto lead our fast-paced news coverage on FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com. You have a proven track record of leading a major newsroom, news desk, or a large team of reporters and editors in a competitive digital environment. In this role, you will set editorial priorities, oversee coverage of breaking and enterprise news, and ensure our reporting is sharp, fast, and precise. You are an expert in AP Style, understand digital audience behavior, and thrive in high-pressure breaking news situations. Your team covers a wide range of content, including general assignments, politics, and business, and you bring the editorial vision to keep our coverage ahead of the competition.

You will be offered the following shift:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM ET- 4:00 PM ET

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with Managing Editors & Deputy Managing Editors on newsgathering strategies and performance enhancement plans

  • Lead a team of editors and reporters to deliver exclusive, agenda-setting journalism and original reporting

  • Oversee both long-term editorial planning and fast-paced daily news operations

  • Assign and manage story coverage across all key verticals, ensuring impactful and timely reporting

  • Approve and refine pitches from reporters and editors, ensuring they align with Fox News Digital's mission and audience expectations

  • Direct breaking news coverage, making quick editorial decisions to keep Fox News Digital first and best in fast-moving situations

  • Utilize real-time analytics (Chartbeat, Adobe Analytics, etc.) to drive editorial decisions and maximize audience engagement

  • Monitor competitors and industry trends to keep Fox News Digital ahead in the digital news space

  • Primarily an editing and management role, with occasional reporting responsibilities as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • At least 6 years of experience in news, TV, or daily digital video

  • Prior newsroom management experience (minimum of 3 years) overseeing a team of reporters and editors

  • Expertise in political and general news journalism, with a deep understanding of current events

  • Experience using content management systems and digital publishing tools

  • Strong command of AP Style and exceptional editing, headline writing, and story-shaping skills

  • Proven ability to lead and execute in breaking news situations under high-pressure

  • Experience leveraging digital analytics (Chartbeat, Adobe Analytics, etc.) to optimize content strategy

  • Strong SEO and social media skills to enhance story reach and visibility

  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills to uphold editorial standards and manage multiple priorities across platforms

  • Ability to pivot seamlessly between breaking news and in-depth enterprise projects

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as news demands

  • A self-starter with strong editorial judgment, decision-making skills, and a commitment to accuracy and fairness

  • Experience integrating AI tools into editorial workflows to enhance speed, efficiency, and decision-making, while exercising strong editorial judgment and oversight

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $106,000.00-145,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
