JOB PURPOSE:

The Electrical Engineer will help provide comprehensive electrical engineering services geared to cover all facets of the construction process, beginning with design initiation, through the commissioning of systems. This position will report to The Electrical Department Manager and office Principal and serve as a key member of the Engineering team. At Energy 1, our passion is to Demand Better. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Electrical Engineer will possess strong abilities to work collaboratively with all members of the design team, mentor designers and teach electrical staff for their progression, accept responsibility of all designs under their direct supervision, and effectively communicate with customers, contractors, and staff. They will manage electrical staff under their direct supervision, their individual time on projects, and expectations of the project PMs. They should be a self-starter, motivated, and able to work independently, but at the same time work collaboratively with others to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and respond to changing demands.


Specific Job Duties:

  • Develop and prepare detailed electrical engineering and construction installation documents and provide engineering support during the construction phase of a wide range of project types including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and healthcare.
  • Design and draft power plans to include receptacle layout and circuiting, mechanical and owner equipment power connections, main electrical equipment room layouts, 1-line power riser diagrams, emergency/back-up generator and uninterruptible power systems, and panel and equipment schedules.
  • Design and draft lighting systems to include light fixture selection and layout, lighting calculations, photometric lighting analysis, and lighting controls.
  • Design special systems plans to include fire alarm, and coordination with low-voltage designers and contractors.
  • Write/edit project specifications (Masterspec divisions 26, 27, and 28).
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to gather specific information required to provide complete electrical designs on schedule.
  • Perform engineering calculations and studies for such items as power distribution system design, short circuit and coordination studies, lighting levels, etc.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Must hold a valid PE license in any U.S. state and be eligible for reciprocity in the state of Wyoming.
  • Proficient with Revit and Microsoft products including Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and other applicable codes for electrical systems design.
  • Must live in and be eligible to work in the United States. Sponsorship for this position is not available.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: communicate with others both physically present and on the telephone; sit and stand; move, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is rarely required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects over 10 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This is a fully remote position.
  • Must live in the United States and can regularly maintain availability from 8a-5p in any North American time zone.
  • The physical environment requires the employee to typically work in an office setting. This position may require travel to multiple E1 sites as the need arises, with rare overnight travel.
  • This FLSA exempt position may be requested to work evenings and weekends on occasion.
