Job description

Closet Factory is looking for a motivated, people-focused Sales & Design Consultant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, helping clients solve problems, and guiding homeowners through a consultative sales process from initial appointment to signed project.

As a Sales & Design Consultant, you will meet with clients in their homes, understand their storage and lifestyle needs, design custom solutions, present proposals, and close sales. Design experience is helpful, but strong communication skills, sales drive, follow-up discipline, and the ability to earn trust with clients are essential.

What You’ll Do
  • Meet with prospective clients in their homes to understand their needs, goals, budget, and priorities.
  • Build trust quickly through strong listening, professionalism, and product knowledge.
  • Create custom storage solutions for closets, garages, offices, pantries, wall beds, entertainment centers, and other spaces.
  • Present design concepts, materials, pricing, and recommendations in a clear and confident way.
  • Guide clients through the decision-making process and close sales.
  • Follow up consistently with leads, quotes, and open opportunities.
  • Manage your sales pipeline and maintain accurate client notes and project information.
  • Work closely with internal team members to ensure a smooth handoff from sale to production and installation.
  • Represent Closet Factory with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a client-first mindset.
What We’re Looking For
  • Prior sales experience, preferably in home improvement, remodeling, interior design, real estate, furniture, cabinetry, flooring, windows, solar, or another in-home consultative sales environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confidence presenting solutions and asking for the sale.
  • Ability to manage follow-up, appointments, and multiple opportunities at once.
  • A self-motivated personality with a strong desire to meet goals and earn based on performance.
  • Good eye for space, layout, organization, and design.
  • Comfortable learning design software, product details, and pricing tools.
  • Professional appearance and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work some evenings or weekends based on client availability.
What Helps You Succeed Here

You do not need to come in as a professional interior designer. We can train the right person on our products, systems, and design process. The best fit is someone who enjoys selling, solving problems, creating value, and helping clients make confident decisions.

Successful consultants are proactive, organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a commission-driven environment. They understand that follow-up, preparation, and confidence are just as important as design creativity.

Compensation

This is a performance-based sales role with strong earning potential. Compensation may include commission, bonuses, and/or other incentives depending on experience and performance.

About Closet Factory

Closet Factory designs, manufactures, and installs custom storage solutions that help clients improve the way they live and use their homes. We are looking for team members who take pride in delivering excellent service, quality products, and a professional client experience from start to finish.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a strong salesperson with an interest in design — not just a designer who is willing to sell. If you enjoy meeting people, creating solutions, and closing business, this could be a great fit.
