Job description

Audio Assistant

Audio Assistant will help Athey Creek's staff and volunteer Production Team provide highest quality audio operations for church services, live and published events. This individual will ensure all stage setup and audio systems are prepared in advance, and live operations are performed with excellence. They will assist with all aspects of the Front of House department, including audio, lighting, and media. Additionally, they will perform regular maintenance and suggest system/process improvements. Audio Assistant will understand advanced operation of audio mixing positions, train others on a regular basis, and work in live mixing, broadcast mixing and producer roles under the direction of the Production Manager.

Required Experience & Knowledge:

  • Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon as taught in scripture
  • Be highly motivated, energetic, and possess strong work ethic/initiative skills
  • Physical strength and stamina to carry heavy equipment
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in audio mixing and maintenance of relevant professional production equipment: DiGiCo consoles, Shure systems, Shure Axient, Sennheiser, Klang, Aviom, Waves Superrack, Avid Pro Tools, Optocore
  • Exhibit skill to think quickly and react/troubleshoot calmly and effectively in high-stress situations

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Front of House mix engineer, Broadcast mix engineer, or Producer for live services and special events
  • Run line checks, lead sound checks, mix for rehearsals, and perform virtual soundchecks
  • Assist in stage setup, patching, and strike for all scheduled events
  • Resolve technical or practical issues
  • Promote volunteer team engagement as Trainer and Point of Contact
  • Edit and export Worship Team recordings; assist in editing teaching audio as necessary
  • Assist with special event staging, rental, power, and other set-up needs
  • Assist in operation of all sanctuary and foyer lighting, lyrics, and media
  • Assist in managing all audio-visual assets including, but not limited to, instruments, speakers, amps, mics, cables, sound boards, audio recording equipment, lights, monitors, related electrical panels, sound booth, and stage seating
  • Fulfill all Production duties through temporary or extended assignment to any Athey Creek campus location, helping provide, strengthen, and sustain production systems, volunteer culture, service excellence, and special event support as-needed
  • Engage as part of a team with Athey staff, always being edifying to one another
  • All other tasks as assigned

Schedule:

Tuesday-Sunday, including some weekends and evenings
