Job description

As a Critical Systems HVAC Technician II/III, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of HVAC systems that support essential operations. This position offers the opportunity to expand your technical skills in a dynamic environment, working with advanced equipment and collaborating with experienced professionals. Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
  • Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, including routine and emergency maintenance and repairs.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings.
  • Support air and water balancing efforts to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.
  • Gain hands-on experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment, including:
    • Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
    • Centrifugal and screw package chillers
    • Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
    • Electric duct heaters
    • Cooling towers
    • Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
    • HVAC air distribution systems, including AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices
    • Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applications
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferred
  • Knowledge of refrigeration principles
  • Strong understanding of basic electricity for HVAC and proficiency with diagnostic tools and instruments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software
  • EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification required
  • HVAC/R Servicing Certificate preferred
  • Valid Virginia or Maryland driver’s license
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain security clearance preferred
