Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of data center HVAC systems and supporting infrastructure with minimal supervision.
- Perform all duties of an HVAC Technician I, while gaining experience in advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and shop drawings to support system diagnostics and repairs.
- Assist with air and water balancing to optimize energy use and maintain occupant comfort.
- Support routine and emergency maintenance and repairs on a variety of HVAC equipment, including:
- Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
- Centrifugal and screw package chillers
- Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
- Electric duct heaters
- Cooling towers
- Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
- Air distribution systems (AHUs, FCUs, fans, and related devices)
- Various types of water pumps used in HVAC applications
- Travel up to 30% as required for site support and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial HVAC service experience required; 4 years preferred
- Knowledge of refrigeration principles
- Strong understanding of basic electricity for HVAC and proficiency with diagnostic tools and instruments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software
- HVAC/R Servicing Certificate (preferred)
- EPA Universal refrigerant recovery certification (preferred)
- Must be a U.S. citizen (ability to obtain security clearance preferred)
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
