Responsibilities

This is a hybrid position and must be located within 100 miles of any of the Mayo Clinic campuses for on-site expectations based on business needs. 
 

Plans, manages, and facilitates installation and support of small and medium software projects or systems across multiple business systems within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. May lead teams to manage small to medium size projects. May provide project documentation to support project design and workflows to facilitate the implementation of small and medium sized projects, processes, website, or training concepts. May develop design decisions. May engage in the testing of system enhancements relative to more complex small and medium technical issues and vendor releases prior to production implementation. Validates that testing is of high quality and complete. Works with appropriate stakeholders in the Revenue Cycle, IT and Operations. Ensures that billing scenarios are built and available for testing plans. Works with systems vendors and external/internal stakeholders to identify issues and attain resolution. Supports Systems Analyst III and Senior Systems Analysts as needed. Conducts business analyses for small and medium projects. Designs, implements, tests, and manages installation of new and existing programs, web site efforts, process workflows, training documents, reports, or tables as appropriate for specific assignments. Initiates solutions through understanding of Enterprise Revenue Cycle data and database structure (i.e., clinical and non-clinical systems) to provide resolution for complex issues. Troubleshoots systems software and technical issues and oversees resolutions. Assists in redesigning systems and workflows. Oversees resolution of identified systems issues. Participates in acquisition discussions relative to computer systems. Estimates non-IT resource allocation for software enhancements and develops project time line to coordinate with other competing projects. Leads and coordinates effective business meetings with participants throughout Mayo Clinic. May be required to lead teams relative to specific initiatives or projects. Recommends and prioritizes enhancements to existing computer software applications in collaboration with Enterprise Revenue Cycle teams. Provides guidance and engagement in decisions relative to process improvements in the Revenue Cycle. Mentors and develops staff. Assists in documenting changed processes and ensures changes are incorporated into training and internal control materials for Enterprise Revenue Cycle staff and other users. Understands and is accountable for ensuring a control environment is maintained to preserve Mayo Clinic's Standard of Ethics and minimize financial and legal risks for the organization. Ensures applicable systems meet and comply with federal and state requirements. Stays abreast of regulatory changes and makes changes, in collaboration with IT colleagues, as necessary through a detailed project process. May work evening and weekend hours as needed.


Qualifications

Associates degree with 5 years of relevant experience required

Bachelor's degree preferred. 

Relevant experience is considered in Finance Revenue Cycle, Healthcare or Information Technology

Knowledge of SQL and operating systems preferred. Experience with system workflow (LEAN and Six Sigma) processes and knowledge of revenue cycle systems preferred. 

Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification Preferred.

Previous healthcare experience and broad knowledge of physician and hospital billing systems for governmental, managed care, and commercial payers required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required.
Must be customer-service oriented, timely in responses to requests for service/information, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and able to work independently. Must possess leadership skills. Knowledge and experience in systems analysis and design, project management, process management or engineering, software testing, and systems documentation preparation preferred.
