About the Job
 

Brief Overview:
The Enrollment Management Data Analyst collects, cleans, and analyzes student datarecruitment, admissions, financial aid, and retentionto drive strategic decisions. They build dashboards, predict enrollment trends, and maintain data integrity in systems like Slate, facilitating informed decisions for marketing, student success, and fiscal planning.  
Visa Language: Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship. This position does not offer a STEM OPT training program.
Location and Work environment: 
Position is located within the Enrollment Management/Admissions office areas on the Rochester campus. The position is in-person on the Rochester campus, with limited flexibility.
Work Schedule: 
Position is Monday through Friday, normal campus office hours. Some weekends and nights will be required for recruitment events or special projects.
Expected Contributions: 
The Data Analyst I supports data informed decision making for the Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management and campus partners including Chancellor, all Vice Chancellors, Registrar, One Stop, Student Life, Coaches, etc. by gathering, analyzing, and reporting on enrollment related data.
This position contributes to the development and maintenance of reporting tools, dashboards, and analyses that inform strategy across enrollment management and the campus.
Primary Responsibilities

  • 40% Data Analysis & Reporting : Perform descriptive and predictive analyses on the student lifecycle, including application, admission, yield, and retention trends.
  • 20% Predictive Modeling & Forecasting: Collaborate with leadership to create enrollment projections and financial aid modeling.
  • 15% CRM/System Administration: Manage, query, and optimize student information systems (e.g., Slate, People Soft, Asana).
  • 15% Data Visualization & Documentation: Develop, maintain, and update interactive dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for stakeholders.
  • 5% Data Governance & System Technology: 
    • Conduct data audits, ensure compliance with FERPA/GDPR regulations, and maintain accurate records.
    • Work closely and contribute to system-wide technology groups including Slate and People Soft groups.
  • 5% Vendor Relations: Maintain positive working relationships with outside vendors.
Qualifications
 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field with 2 years of experience in data analytics, with higher education enrollment management or admissions data preferred, or Masters degree 
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel; experience with CRM systems (Slate) and visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).
  • Strong ability to manipulate complex datasets and present findings to non-technical audiences.

Pay and Benefits
 

Pay Range: $62,000 to $72,000 per year; depending on education/qualifications/experience
