Join a Team Dedicated to Women's Health

The Group Obstetrics amp; Gynecology Specialists is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Women's Health team. This position provides clinical support for in-office gynecologic procedures while partnering with our physicians and advanced practice providers to deliver exceptional care throughout every stage of a woman's life.

Position Summary

This role is responsible for preparing patients for in-office procedures, assisting providers during procedures, educating patients, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and compassionate clinical experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a collaborative environment and thrives in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for office visits and gynecologic procedures.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during in-office procedures, including:
    • Endometrial biopsies
    • Colposcopies
    • Hysteroscopies
    • LEEP procedures
    • IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals
    • Vulvar and cervical biopsies
    • Other minor gynecologic procedures
  • Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and procedure rooms.
  • Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and assessments.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, recovery, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate procedure scheduling, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, OSHA, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with providers, medical assistants, nurses, and front office staff to deliver outstanding patient care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Practical Nursing, or Registered Nursing program.
  • Current certification or licensure appropriate for position:
    • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (preferred)
    • Iowa LPN License
    • Iowa RN License
  • Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Previous experience in OB/GYN, Women's Health, ambulatory surgery, or a physician office is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative clinical team.
