Job description

Position Overview:
The Dealer is responsible for the accuracy and professional, proficient manner in dealing a specific table game according to MACR's policies and procedures and guest service standards. All duties are to be performed according to the policies and procedures of the Mount Airy Casino Resort and the regulations of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the protection and control of the game being dealt, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Mini-Baccarat, Baccarat, Carnival, etc.
  • Conducts the games in accordance with MACR policies and procedures, handling player transactions and notifying Floor Supervisor or Pit Manager of any irregularities.
  • Advises Pit Manager or Floor Supervisor of any player disputes or arguments that may arise during the game.
  • Informs Pit Manager or Floor Supervisor of any important or relevant facts regarding specific players and their action.
  • Maintains a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere providing the guest with a pleasant gaming experience, and notifying Floor Supervisor of any guest needs i.e., cocktails, Host Service, etc.
  • Promotes departmental and property wide promotions.
  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, etc.) and regulations as well as Mount Airy Casino Resorts internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
  • Attends all necessary meetings.
  • Assists in other projects as directed.
  • Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24 hour schedule based on business volumes.

Essential Requirements:
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Proven knowledge, training and/or experience on the assigned game required. Basic knowledge of all current house procedures required.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the employees throughout all levels of the Mount Airy Casino Resort.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid license as required by the PA Gaming Control Board.
  • Must have ability to deal affectively and interact well with guests and employees.
  • Must demonstrate leadership, fairness and sensibility to the guests and employees.
  • Ability to work long hours within a smoking environment, employee will be exposed to smoke.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Other Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required by the PGCB.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as required with occasional travel.
  • Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.
