Position Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
CORE is seeking an experienced Healthcare Construction Superintendent to provide on-site coordination and leadership for all phases of Healthcare Construction projects in the Flagstaff, Verde Valley, and Cottonwood regions. The superintendent's role is to ensure tasks required to facilitate the construction of the project on site are implemented while utilizing CORE's best practices in safety, quality, schedule and cost while maintaining relationships with both our trade partners and our clients. Projects will include complex healthcare environments requiring strict adherence to ICRA, OSHA standards, and operational continuity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
  • Coach subcontractors on safe construction practices, including healthcare-specific safety and ICRA compliance
  • Enforce quality control standards and ensure timely correction of subcontractor deficiencies
  • Maintain and manage the project schedule, including critical path coordination
  • Facilitate subcontractor coordination to minimize disruptions in active and occupied facilities
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors to resolve challenges and unforeseen conditions
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, RFIs, ASIs, and material submittals
  • Prepare daily field reports and weekly schedule updates
  • Ensure compliance with CORE best practices related to safety, quality, schedule, and cost control
Position Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 10 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Healthcare construction experience
  • Certified Healthcare Construction (CHC) certification
  • Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) certification
  • Experience delivering large-scale healthcare projects ($10M+ construction value)
  • Prior experience working with active hospital campuses and/or phased renovation projects
  • Proven experience coordinating subcontractors in complex, occupied facilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project, and Procore
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel within Arizona as project needs require
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with CMAR and/or Design-Build delivery methods
  • Experience working in inpatient healthcare environments
  • Additional healthcare-related safety or compliance certifications
  • Familiarity with regional healthcare systems
