These roles are often part-time and may include troubleshooting hardware/software issues, monitoring systems, or assisting with technical support. Weekend Computer jobs can be found in industries like IT, customer service, and healthcare, where technical support is needed outside regular business hours.

What are the typical responsibilities of a weekend computer operator, and how does their work schedule differ from weekday roles?

Weekend Computer Operators are responsible for monitoring computer systems, running scheduled jobs or batch processes, responding to system alerts, and escalating issues that arise during weekend hours. The role often requires working independently due to reduced on-site staffing, making strong problem-solving skills essential. Unlike weekday operators, weekend staff may handle maintenance tasks during off-peak hours and provide support outside of normal business operations. This schedule can offer flexibility and is especially suited for individuals seeking supplemental income or balancing other commitments. Working weekends often means collaborating with remote teams or leaving detailed handoff notes for weekday staff.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the weekend computer position, and why are they important?

To succeed in a Weekend Computer Operator role, you should possess strong analytical skills, familiarity with IT systems, and prior experience with data entry or batch processing. Comfort with computer operating systems, troubleshooting tools, and sometimes industry-standard certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) is preferred. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are crucial soft skills in this position. These competencies are vital for efficiently monitoring system operations, resolving issues, and ensuring uninterrupted weekend IT performance.

Job description

Weekend Receptionist

Birch Creek Assisted Living is hiring a friendly, reliable Weekend Receptionist to keep our front desk organized and welcoming for residents, families, visitors, and outside professionals. You'll be a key point of contact on weekends—someone who can stay calm, helpful, and professional while supporting the flow of the building. This is an onsite, part-time, entry-level role in Smithfield, UT, scheduled 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. on alternating Saturdays and Sundays (rotating opposite another weekend receptionist). Pay is $14/hr. In this role, you will:

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Greet visitors and help with questions or concerns
  • Share resident needs and messages with care staff
  • Complete filing, basic records, and general admin tasks
  • Assist with timesheet corrections and administrator-assigned support

What you'll need:

  • Strong customer service, kindness, and respect for seniors
  • Solid time management and ability to multitask
  • Basic computer skills (Google Workspace or similar)
  • Office/reception experience helpful; training available

If you're dependable and enjoy helping others, apply with your resume.

Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid meals during your shifts.

Your shift runs 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on alternating Saturdays and Sundays, rotating opposite another weekend receptionist for a consistent part-time schedule. You'll settle in at the front desk, connect with residents and families as they come and go, and stay attentive to what's happening in the building so you can respond smoothly when the pace picks up. Between visitor flow, you'll have quieter moments to stay organized, keep the workspace tidy, and wrap up the day by making sure key notes and details are in order for the team after you.

Pursuant to the State of Utah rules and regulations governing assisted living facilities we are not allowed to hire any person who cannot pass a criminal background check due to past felonies.
