Job description

Title: Temporary- Adult Education Program ESL Teacher (Pool)

Institution:ย Volunteer State Community College

Job Summary:

Provide instruction for the ESL (English as a Second Language) component of the Adult Education Program in compliance with the TN DOL Adult Education Curriculum. Teaching responsibilities may include day, evening, or weekend classes on and off-campus, using various formats for delivery.ย 

Job Duties:

Plan, teach and evaluate student work in assigned ESL classes in compliance with the TN DOL Adult Education Curriculum. Assist with the administration and interpretation of students' scores on State approved examinations for student placement and instruction. Attend required meetings/training events as appropriate to the position. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Baccalaureate in Education or related field. A Tennessee Teacher's License is required unless an exception is approved by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development Division of Adult Education. Experience in teaching ESL.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an adult education environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiarity with classroom technology. Familiarity with remote/virtual instruction. Computer skills in Microsoft Office. Analytical and organizational skills. Attention to detail.

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
